Current mood: annoyed

Ya know.. I have something I feel the urge to bitch about. :o As a person, I do not have many things I absolutely cannot stand or like, also known as 'hating' something. I'm really not picky.. but there is one thing I *do* hate and that is in fact the word 'hate' itself. I'm serious. If there was one word that I would stomp out of existance, that would be the one. I despise this word bc when I think of 'hate' I think of death or killing or destroying something as completely as possible. As you might guess (correctly) I am also rather annoyed by its over use and abuse by some people on the internet who think that having a list of 'hates' on their profiles makes them cool.. or something.

I will simply use the US as an example since it's where I'm from and well, we do get picked on a lot bc of the manyyy contreversial things that those in power decide the 'entire country' wants to do. :coughgotowarcough: So anyway, I don't even want to think about how many times I've seen 'America(ns)/US' on these self proclaimed 'haters' lists. Put simply and flatly.. I just do not get it, I cannot comprehend IT. It is soooooo far beyond my ability to precieve that I just kind of stare blankly back at the screen. This hatred of an entire country, its customs and most importantly its people (all of whom I'm sure these ppl have never met, and how can you hate someone passionately w/o having known they exist at all? Can we say hypocrisy?!!) is revolting and repulsive to me. I suppose it's worth mentioning that most of the US haters I've seen are European, if that makes any difference. I do not see how one can logically hate an entire country or race if you have a. never been there, b. tried to live there and be part of the society and c. have not met every single person in the country (bc let's face it, I bet you could find at LEAST one person you could be super best friends with in any country). I also hope these people realize that a. following the above logic, hating an entire country makes you look extremely ignorant, b. it also makes you a racist and bigot which is sooooooo not politically correct these days and c. this same kind of 'hate' thinking is what has lead to genocides and 'ethnic cleansings', aka the murder of thousands of Jews, Gypsies, Chinese and so forth in some of the most well known genocides of WWII.

Yes, World War II. Thousands of people died bc idiots like you thought it was cool to hate a large number of people without even really knowing them. You make me sick. Personally, I don't hate anyone. I don't think anyone's worth the effort and energy it would take me to hate them passionately. I really don't care if you want to go on 'hating' the US bc McD's is evil and Wal-mart is the largest corporation in the world or even if you want to hate another country. Just be prepared to be treated like the idiot you are and for me to have very little patience with you.

'Maybe I'll hate everyone with black hair.. Now what bitch? Aren't I cooler than you bc now I can hate people from eeeeeeeevery country simultaniously!' Really now, this is the same thing only dumbed down to show how ridiculous generalizing and hating a large group *IS*.

Oh I entirely agree beyond words. One thing that really peevs me is people who go out of their way to "hate" things or be "anti-something." Of course we all dislike stuff. But the ones who go out of their way to make something so entirely negative and miserably obvious are just ...ugh!

I just cannot find patience for it. "I hate the US"! (Because everyone else hates the US and its totally the cool thing to do now!) It's so old and so very immature. It is a country. If anyone is going to hate the US to such a point, they might as well hate the entire world. History and future all together. Because our mistakes are inevtiably linked together and make us what we are. Personally I happen to love it. I think it makes for what defines our cultures and hardships and they become a basis for learning and humanity.

D: I just dont understand the reason that people need to use so much energy to LITERALLY involve themselves in so much negativity. It is such a horrible feeling.

<33 I read this and was entirely, "Yes! I agree!" I know alot of people who are exactly what you said, and it can become a bit frustrating. It's nice to know I am not the only one who is just a little tired of it. :) Then again I suppose people will be people. I feel so bold for just stating my opinion so loudly! Eek!

Take care!

I agree.. ppl who go out of their way to hate things and make it known they HATE it or are anti whatever.. scare me a bit to be truthful. Are they desperate to fit in somewhere, anywhere that they will hate for fun?

Oooh ooh! Don't forget the Chinese! :p Damn rice eaters and their censorship! :p

Seriously though... Europeans are entitlement whores... if they're not bitching about the free stuff, they'll bitch about everything else. Because really... they have NOTHING better to do o_o/. Anyway, when so many things go wrong, it's in people's mentality to blame it on someone. This time, America is the one that became the scapegoat because everything bad seemed to start right after the whole Saddam thing and just went downhill from there.
Call the Americans on it as well though :p. Terrorist = muslim = everyone who is not an American patriot O_o/. Yeah, really, terrorists... big threat whoo scary... Yeah, let's hate everyone who hates us :p. Funds to 'the fight against terrorism' are better spend repairing your dykes and stuff o_o. I'm not kidding o_o! More people die from bad dykes than they do from someone blowing themselves up O_O/!

But really, don't listen to Europeans. They might politically be a tad better informed about current issues than Americans are, but most of them are still about as intelligent as a blank piece of paper. Just don't pay too much attention to it. It's worthless to do that and if they already take a stance like that, chances are they're as dumb as a rock and won't change their way of thinking about things anyway, so you're better off just pointing at them and laugh :p.

(I still think your president is a moron though, but that's besides the point :p. What IS to the point, is that there ARE some things you can hate, like periods :D!)

hmm.. you know if I was a sheeple and didn't have my own ideas, I probably wouldn't like Asians since my father was born around the start of WWII and was raised in that enviroment and well, my brother is my father's son.. so he's kind of similiar in that aspect. They don't *hate* Asians by any means but they don't have much use for them either (or ppl of any other 'race' for that matter). My dad watches too many WWII movies.. so I grew up hearing about the Japs and Chinks. It took me awhile of telling them both to shut up about it for them to finally realize I really didn't want to hear it.

Yes, I agree the hating Muslims thing was stupid.. the terrorists aren't even following the true readings of Kuran; the leaders are twisting the meaning to their advantage (hahahah imagine that.. doesn't Bush claim he can talk to 'God' too? XDDD frightening similiarity). The number of ppl going all out hatred on the Muslims was rather few tho. However, I don't think you can expect any country who is attacked to simply sit back and take it. I think any country in Europe who had the military power to do so, would have done the same thing if they were attacked. I do not think we should be policing the world though.. it's really hard to find that line between fighting back to protect yourself and getting too involved and I don't know where that line lies.

You know, I actually heard something on TV awhle back that they may not restore New Orleans bc in about.. 50 years I think it was, it will be sitting under water anyway. Or they'll have to build dykes all around it bc it's going to be sitting in the Gulf O_o They expect less than half of the population will return anyway and from what I've seen on the news, the place is totally destroyed and inhabitable. The cost to restore it will be astronomical.

LOL yes, it's ok to hate some things... OMG the red tide!!! Let me grab my surf board eh!! /@o@\
